For 25 years, I have been providing transformational leadership for congregations—both as a staff member and external consultant. As a seasoned coach, I equip church leaders to understand the systemic issues of congregational effectiveness and provide them with the practical strategies to be faithful. My distinctive and biblical model for congregational transformation is the subject of my book, The Heart of the Matter: Changing the World God’s Way.

I currently provide ongoing leadership for Covenant United Methodist Church in Greenville, N.C. as Executive Director and oversee the church’s ministry and related 60+ staff. I have earned degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary (M. Div. ’81) and the University if Michigan (M.B.A. ’87). My experience also extends to the business world where I orchestrated the turn around of a failing, multi-million dollar business.
